The process and outcome were extraordinary.  To be honest, I don’t think the brilliant blossom would have happened this way if I were not with the Nómadas in the city of Barcelona.  All the interaction with the artists, students, and the space gave me enormous inspiration to create.

This is a life-transforming experience I will never forget – a milestone for my whole being.  No matter where I am in the future, the unique Nómada community will always have a piece of my heart.

I realized that ‘being ready for art academy’ became less important and that enjoying my creative process and the broadening of my horizon became more important.

The weekly guidance in my creative process by Iris was very helpful and fun. At first we focussed on orientating assignments, to start up a process. The process was troublesome sometimes, but the end result where some nice pictures which I got to show in a group exhibition, something that not everybody my age is able to do.

Arnout’s classes I also remember very vividly. They gave more stability and depth to my personal world of thoughts. What I loved about the classes with iris and Arnout is that they adapt fully to your needs to get the most out of you. A very intensive guidance which provided me with a lot of insight. Estudio Nómada introduced me in the art world, a tough but also very beautiful world where I’d like to hang around in a lot more. With a positively triggered attitude I started this year (2011) at the Minerva academy in Groningen in the Netherlands. A fresh start in which to learn even more. I must admit that I miss that great ambiant city of Barcelona, but I’m happy to look back at an unforgettable time in Spain.
